How much caffeine is in Guayusa?

An 8 oz cup of guayusa contains approximately 40 mg to 90 mg of caffeine, depending on the brewing time. For a stronger caffeine effect, we recommend brewing for 10+ minutes, which can provide a caffeine boost comparable to that of coffee.

What does Guayusa taste like?

The flavor of guayusa is medium-bodied, mild, and slightly sweet, with none of the bitterness often associated with other caffeinated beverages like coffee or yerba mate. It features earthy notes complemented by subtle hints of nuttiness, and its smooth, lubricating texture makes it incredibly easy to drink. How is Guayusa brewed?

Guayusa can be brewed using various methods, including a teapot with an infuser, a pot with a strainer, a French press, or a tea cup with an infuser. For each cup, use 1 tablespoon of Guayusa. Pour boiling water over the leaves and steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Feel free to experiment with steeping times; longer brews of up to 15 to 20 minutes can enhance the flavor while maintaining a smooth, non-bitter taste.

What is Guayusa’s Shelf Life?

Guayusa has a shelf life of up to 2 years when stored properly. Proper storage is in a cool, dry place which can help maintain its quality throughout this period.
